I live for my country and the lives of others. I have been a patriot of the outstanding USA since I was born. The idea of serving my country goes back to when I was seven and my grandfather used to sit me on his lap and tell me all his military stories from his recruitment process all the way to the Vietnam War. He told me about fellowship which was that everyone had each other’s backs in the Marines, which created a strong bond between them. They all had different backgrounds and came from different places, which created such an incredible bond. There was a sense of pride in the way he told me the stories. He passed away the next year which made me want to join and follow his example. I want to join because I want to be a part of something much bigger than my own life. I live for my country because it is important to me to secure the lives of others who cannot defend for themselves. I’m a hard worker and I never look for handouts or for anyone to fight my battles. I also live for the ones I love such as family, friends and my girlfriend. They’re the ones I care about the most and their part of my reasons for joining the military. I love my family and I want them to be able to have their freedom and the pursuit to chase their dreams so I like the idea that I’m the one that can go out and fight for that cause. My friends also play a major role in me wanting to join the U.S. Marines. I have had the same friends since the 1st grade and all of us are closer than ever. In fact I refer to them as family because our bond is strong than some of my own family. Growing up, I was the adviser because I cared and wanted to help everyone and over the years, I listen to all my friends tell me their dreams and how they planned for great things. I always knew what I wanted so it was hard to see myself in the world, as they knew it. I plan to be an infantrymen and to be specific I plan to be on the Special Forces. My job consist of being the first one into battle and it was hard for me to share my thoughts on it because no one knew how to talk about it with me because none of them want to see me going into battle but they all did the best they could to support my dream. In regard, I heard all their dreams and I started looking at the bigger picture, me defending their dreams by protecting this country. My girlfriend now plays a significant role in why I want to serve. She has been my go-to person through thick and thin. She has always been there through my rough situations. I can always count on her to tell me the truth even when I’m wrong. She has sacrificed and compromised a lot to be with me and she is still doing just that. I noticed her selfless ways and her caring personality, which is why I love her more than ever. She puts the feelings of others before herself and that is why we meant for each other because we share some of the same traits. Living to serve my country is one of the most selfless honorable things I could do and I want to the one who put his life on the line for others. I look up to those that have served before me and those that will serve with me and so on.
I would die for freedom. The thought that someone would take away another human being’s freedom sickens me. In reference to the holocaust, I would die so that no one would have to go through a tragedy like that. Since my plans are to serve my country, I am willing to die for the better cause. This means I would put my life on the line so that everyone else could live to pursue his or her dreams. I would die for freedom because it’s worth dying for as well as living. I would also die for world peace or anything of that cause. I would die for any and all of my loved ones. I would die so they could live easier and have fulfilling lives. I can honestly say that I care enough about them so I would be willing to give my life. Loved ones are always going to have a special place in my heart and I would do anything to protect them. The ability to die for someone says a lot about how much you care. I could see myself taking a bullet for someone I care about as done in the movies. I have enough courage in myself to make the sacrifice.
I would kill for my fellow brothers in the service. I already know that with my type of job I have to be willing to kill people so this will be second nature to me. I expect my battalion to watch my back and as will I for them. Many nasty things have to go on for people to live the American way and someone has to do it. I would kill for every person in my battalion and anyone that I love. As I stated before, my job in the Marines is Special Forces so I have to be willing to get a little blood under my nails for a better life for all. I’m in this for the long run and as a warrior, I only see black and white. I want to kill in the name of my country so I feel like anyone that stands in my way will have to go down. Killing is not the preferred method of dealing with things but if it comes to it, I will be the first to act. I would also kill for my family. I would kill to protect every one of them. They mean the world to me and I would do anything for them.
