know there was so much work done on I55 this past summer. For what exactly was there work done on. I know it was supposed to be extending the shoulders out so that pace buses could be on the highway from a certain point of the day. I drive on the highway everyday at all types of times during the day to go to work. I’m even on during the times when the pace buses are allowed to be on as well. If there are no pace buses on there now, then what was the point of adding on to it.
To anyone who doesn’t know the general idea on how this is supposed to work, basically it is a way of clearing out traffic on our highways because as well all know from living in Chicago, rush hour isn’t pretty to be sitting in everyday. They believe that if pace buses are allowed to be on the highway, it will take out the clutter on the highway. As of right now I haven’t seen it been used once. There could be a potential problem with a pace bus being allowed on the highway. What if someone is already pulled over on the shoulder and its rush hour traffic. I don’t think anyone is going to let a bus in their lane. This project cost the state 35 million dollars. Can anybody tell me what Illinois could of done with 35 million dollars? I know I could think of a few things to do with that money.
