I wanted to express my opinion and care on the topic of what our regular standard mail has come to in this day in age. With so much changing in the world.. It’s a shame we cannot even receive mail on time anymore. In all reality, it’s not USPS. It is without a doubt the technology we have today. People rarely send an actual letter anymore. I personally do not hold them responsible. Life changes and sadly receiving mail is soon to be a thing of the past. The saddest part of all this is being overlooked. Most people, who have devoted most of their lives to this profession, are going to get laid off or forced early retirement. In actuality, why wouldn’t people quit? There is no stability there in the long term. I am sorry but, can you or the general public really be shocked that we are being forced to use mail carriers from other districts I certainly am not. As bad as this reality is, this is just the beginning of problems to come.. not enough mail, jobs will suffer and so will the mail service not having enough bodies out there to handle what mail is still circulating. Only time will tell how much longer something that was as stable and reliable as the mail will finally crumble.
